I’m a tad bit disappointed in Hollywood’s response to the whole Obama innauguration. Actually, no, I’m not. The Left’s savior comes on the heels of the Right’s abomination. What is depressing is to see so many stars gushing over the whole thing.

What really irritates me is this rush to line up as many actors as possible to make some public service message pledging their intent to do better. Why does this piss me off? Why weren’t they doing all of these things before? Why do they push for all the effort now when they could have put all of that extra energy into their charitable works now as opposed to, say, one or two years ago.

These stars are telling us that so long as we have a benevolent leader, they will do everything they can while giving f$@#-all when they don’t like the president. The point is: charity for the president’s sake isn’t charity – it’s posturing. It’s pontificating. It’s degrading to everyone who does all they can every single day regardless of who holds office.

So to Ashton and Demi and every other star who feels the need to horde the camera now rather than any point prior to make a point for charity, you should be slapped in the face. There are far more people out there doing more than you and your elitist, popular friends can ever do.
